From a friend's journal...questions

When you post in your journal, are you writing with the expectation of receiving comments?
Depends on the post. I haven't disallowed comments, and often I do like to hear them, though I suck miserably at responding.
If someone posts comments that don't really have anything to do with you personally, how do you react?
I read it and move on. If it becomes a long conversation that has NOTHING to do with what I wrote or anything I even remotely understand, I might get annoyed, but I won't yell or pick on them. Delete keys are a wonderful thing.
Do you think it's important to respond to comments in your journal?
Not necessarily. Sometimes, they are just comments, follow ups to what you say. Sometimes they are things that NEED replies or are specifically asking. I get so busy though that often I don't have time to respond, or I spend an hour writing a response, only to be told it's too long and have it deleted...bastages. But no, I still LOVE hearing from others, and often don't feel it's appropriate to comment back, in fact, on occasion I get annoyed if I see a thread is JUST the person replying to everyone posting with a "thanks" type of comment. Makes no sense to me.
If you post comments and the journal-owner doesn't respond, how do you react? Depends. Some times I am consciously hoping for the response, sometimes I know it doesn't warrant it. Occasionally I am sad if there is no response, if I think the comment is reply worthy. But, as I often get busy, I understand if they do.
Food for thought. I think happy things
tinuvien but often don't say it.

Hijacking the subject....
Date: 2003-12-03 08:52 pm (UTC)(I was half tempted to say, "Maybe that's your problem", but he probably *will* be playing the constable next season, and I really don't feel like being in the stocks all summer.)
