For Irish Weekend, that's NEXT weekend, Sept 6 and 7, for the first time, MDRF is going to be open till 8:00 pm...yes, 8:00 pm.

Even more exciting, The Interpreters have a special 7:00 pm show both days on the Globe. Pub Sing still runs from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, then you can all bring your beers and join us for a little bit of late night naughtiness.

We are really excited about this special performance as you can see and hear perfectly at the Globe.

do you happen to know if last call will be pushed back too? Just wondering if we'll have to horde our ciders if we want to bring a tasty beverage with us to see the late show. :)

Don't know. I am ASSUMING, that last call is 20 minutes before close, but I haven't heard. Once I hear one way or the other, I will let y'all know.

The pubs and food should be staying open till around 7:20ish, one hour later than a regular day...so don't horde cider till the end of the day, you will have time.

I love you, but 9am-9pm (set up and tear down) is a bit much.(unless we can tear down at 7 and come enjoy the shows.

You'd have to ask management. I don't know what vendors are doing.

And it wasn't my personal decision to stay open late, we were just asked to do a show to fill in the stage time after pub sing.

Please don't make me bleed...it clashes with my hair.

I meant- THEM. I just called Leslie (and talked to a couple other vendors) - we have been given no information what. so. ever. So I have no idea. (although I think my plan is a winner) She's going to check in at the office today.

The "rumor" I heard last week was that it was "optional for vendors to remain open."

Very long day. I am not complaining about the event itself so much as the lack of vendor input so we can plan accordingly.

From Rennfest.com : UPCOMING EVENT: A new special event themed weekend - Irish Weekend will be held on Sept. 6th & 7th. NEWS FLASH: You get an extra bonus hour of fun on Sept. 6th & 7th - that weekend only the festival will remain open until 8pm.

From my conversation with the office several moments ago :
Jules just wrote up a notification for the vendors and staff about the extra hour, to be put up in the usual notification locations. The deal for vendors - you can close up shop at 7 pm if you choose, but not with tarps. Food vendors will remain open the extra hour for us hungry folks !

We may or may not close up shop and head out back to watch the Globe - it will depend on foot traffic !
