Yesterday, the Interpreters had their first ever live recording session in Damascus.

To those who were able to attend. From the depths of our hearts, thank you. You were amazing, supportive, and an absolutely incredible audience. What we couldn't have in size, you made up in heart and volume. Thank you thank you thank you.

We will be working hard to get this ready for release at the beginning of MDRF. We will let you know more as things progress. Your work is done and ours is just beginning.

Can't wait to see you all at MDRF or before!

Heh... you might not have been there in person but you were definitely thought about.

*snicker*

Wait til ya hear (read?) what was thought about you, though...

Hey Trinket & Columbina - will that final track be available for download (or at least the lyrics) in any way, shape, or form?

Thank you!

I haven't laughed so hard in...

I have no idea when the last time I'd laughed that hard was. It took everything I had to ensure that other people got their own opportunities to make themselves look/sounds stupid for the recordings rather than bogarting all of the chances!

Thank you, of course, for the opportunity! It was fun, funny and fearless (well, on our part). *g* I look forward to buying copies of whatever comes out of the recording session!

I'm glad that it sounds like everything went according to plan! Sorry we couldn't attend (we really wanted to but there was a lot going on this weekend and it was a school night after-all).

So, are the CDs going to be available this season?

Yes, but packaging aside -- NOW you have a product!

Just a question which sounds dumb -- "permissions" from whom?

Right right -- didn't think of that. I was considering the permission of the barristas of the recording location, or from audience members, or... I dunno, the sound-engineering guy, and that wasn't computing.

Sorry -- brain not on quite right this morning. Applying more coffee in a medicinal capacity now.

P.S. I hate to claim favorites, but that song about "the dragon" (forgot the title) was marvelously done! I love the syncopation, the style and all that, but you two hit the notes brilliantly and at times surprisingly! And of course, some of your songs are just guaranteed to stick in your head. I was humming a few in the shower this morning.

MDRF's Entertainment Director does have the right to review everything that is put on sale by the entertainers. It's in all our contracts, even if we're not selling anything.

For the songs themselves, I'm not sure what is directly under a songwriters copyright that needs to be handled, and ASCAP can get nasty on recorded arrangements of songs if you're not careful to either license something or document your research or writing and assert your originality on your work. Rarely a problem, but still a tedium. Even if you don't feel the need to file anything, its best to have that documentation stored away.

Family show = quality control. Check!

Thanks! My brain wasn't tracking. Stayed up late watching TV last night. {chuckle}
