Sweeney Todd won the Golden Globe for best comedy/musical.

While it was not completely awful, it was a joke as far as I was concerned. Helena Bonham Carter is AWFUL in it and Burton has dropped so low in my estimation as a director because he can't seem to allow his actors to have an emotional life. Don't you DARE cast your wife if she't not talented enough for the part.

The best thing in the movie was a 14 year old boy who outsang the entire rest of the cast. Most of the issues I had were with the director (cuts, casting, and choices the actors were given).

I am disgusted.

Andrew Lloyd Webber did that for years! Granted, Sarah Brightman sings MUCH better that Carter, but still not as good as others who were overlooked.

BTW, while I have yet to see the movie, I can see your point about everything...

BWHAHAHAHAHA.... This is why I don't put any stock in awards. Awards are always granted to things that are fresh in people’s minds.

I didn't like it either and when I voiced this opinion it was met with, "What? But it was GREAT". But opinions are like * :-) anyway..glad to see I'm not the only one :-)
