The local chapter of the society would meet like every third Tuesday of each month (I think...I forget the actual day) at Tommy's Joynt on Geary and Van Ness and drink and be merry. The object, think of odd things to do, pranks, jokes, etc... They'd come up with things like 'smash your t.v.', 'drunken santas', roll 8 foot wide bubble wrap down 18th in the Castro on Halloween.
A fun bunch. There are chapters all over the world. If Santacon is a funny idea to you...look them up. I have no doubt they are in your neighborhood.
I always wanted to get a group of folks dressed up as monkeys, bears, or other zoo animals, and go down to (at the time) Golden Gate park and gawk & chase the tour buses that drive through. I always thought that was silly, driving through a park.
