I didn't even remember all of my part in this...THIS is why I write these recaps. There are so many great details I would have forgotten.

I present 1998, the recap of the Pie Fight between Holt Ramsey and Dash Rippington..A DREAM ACCOMPLISHED

Ok, so Dash had this vision of coming up to me with a pie and ending up wearing it himself because of our pie fight here on the NG. Unfortunately, he didn't mention that part to me, or I would have been very willing to play. However, he and Tom, my roommate otherwise known as Holt Ramsey, planned a bake off / food fight which they got approved by the Entertainment Director. Outside of K.Dopita they set up a table covered with flour, water in buckets, 3 dozen eggs - some hard boiled some not, pie crusts filled with whipped cream, and a small bowl of chocolate sprinkles. Dash begins by telling everyone how wonderful his mother was at baking pies. Holt who believes HIS mother was the best pie baker, asks to see how it is done. As Dash explains, he gets some flour of Holt by accident. Holt is displeased. He asks to try the method, and purposely gets flour on Dash, who then re-explains and gets more stuff on Holt. It proceeds from there. As they are about to throw pies, Dash announces "I know someone who deserves these pies more than us!" And they turn on me…All I can think is, "OH GOD, not on the silk, not the silk." I quickly stand and say, "wait, I am Italian, I don't understand these. You take an egg, like this? Here could you hold this pie" as I hand off Dash's pie to Holt. I give Dash the egg to hold and ask him to hold it high to see it better, then I have him hold it very close to his forehead. Then, I smash it…onto his head, and sit down. Loud laughter and applause ensues and they continue charging at each other from a distance and smacking each other with the pies. Pouring bucket of water and flour on each other, and topping it all off with chocolate sprinkles. The crowd was HUGE, easily over 100 people in the circle. Probably had an audience
the size of an average stage show. What a pleasure that was to watch.

Oh, my God, one of the funniest bits I've ever seen. You must have warned me about it in advance, because I was there from the very beginning. I remember that my cheeks and stomach ached from laughing!

Thank you for this. We seemed to have had more people watching the bit the second year we did this... but I will always think of this first time as the better of the 2.

And for the record... for anyone that is interested... Tom went on to do a documentary on why Pie Fights are funny... and in said documentary, he interviewed me. During the interview, Hamish had gone off and got a whipped cream pie and splattered it in my unexpecting face. All I could do was laugh! PERFECT timing. I can't wait to see the documentary.
