Friends old and new

ptpgradI went to Harry Browne's tonight. The Lelios, Xan, Toast, and another went along for the evening. The Lelios left early and soon after EJ from the Rogues showed up to enjoy the evening. The group sang Happy Birthday and Seamus called me up to give him a kiss. Luckily, I didn't have to do the Unicorn song.
I invited EJ over to our table to share in the evening...seemed wrong to have him sit alone at the bar. Eventually a large group left leaving 4 regulars, me, EJ and Seamus. Seamus said he would unplug and the two would jam. EJ on his new pipes and Seamus on the Guitar. Reels and hornpipes and traditionals. I had dancey feet for some of it and drummed for the rest. Then the other 4 left and the 3 of us shot the ...stuff...for a while. I was neat hearing about the music world the way I often talk about the theater world. Nice quiet moments talking about what these musicians reall love in their work.
EJ and I helped Seamus load up his car and headed to ours. We talked a bit more about performance and the importance of entertainment in a performance, even a musical one. And that I was allergic to caffeine... he asked me if I had any vices during faire season...can tomatoes be a vice? or sugar? Big hugs and I headed home.
