HAPPY NEW YEAR!

ptpgradLast week was busy. I found out Ted Garber has a regular gig in Annapolis on Church circle, so I went to watch him sing. I couldn't get anyone to join me, and Ted felt sad for me sitting by myself. I wasn't worried, but he and I had a lovely chat during his first break, that I think went overtime. He is heading to Argentina in a few weeks. I am so jealous of his travel. I really want to be able to do that.
I worked on Wednesday, but not ungodly.
Thursday, went to see my parents, ostensibly to drop off a punchbowl i borrowed. I was going to leave by 3:00. I left at 8:00. The other 8 hours were trying to fix her upgrade for her virus scan software, and save her inside cat that has been bullied by on of the other inside cats. We were catching him to get him to my sister's house to the laidback happy kitty. He was strong and a fast runner, but using my parents as catchalls, I was able to get him, calm him (after he peed on me) and get him in the carrier for my mom. She drove off with him while I washed my clothes and tried to fix her computer. I finally had to go to the help line and write up a detailed "I did this, this, this" had called both Drew and my brother and no go, so this was the last resort as I had left my back door open for the cats, expecting to be home before dark. Mom called on the way home and said she was told she had to reinstall her OS as it was corrupt. My brother will be doing that today. I hated to leave her without anything, but I HAD to get home.
Last night, the end of the year, I went and got a manicure and pedicure, fruit, champagne(well, australian sparkling wine) and headed out to a friend's place. Had a lovely time with around 10-12 people grilling food in a fireplace eating fondue, I wore my fabulous new organza skirt and rose satin swing coat and some fabulous sandals cause it was warm enough. I ate, drank my champagne and red wine (both were fabulous) and spent good time with great company. Yes, I hid out with the cat for a while, it's my modus operandi, but I did sit out in public for a while too. I got a call from England around 7:30 wishing me happy new year, gave a call around the same time to California and when I was driving home at 3am, called California again and talked for an hour. On the walk back to my car from the party, I passed by a couple and one cute man. I actually smiled and said happy new year. I didn't stop, had the urge, but didn't, given the time and the understanding I didn't know them. Was a nice little surprise bubble for my energy.
I think this year should be FABULOUS! Hope all of you were safe and have a happy new year.
I am off to the zoo in the fabulous 60 degree weather.
