Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The ride is brief and only mildly amusing, however the setup and "imagineering" makes it worthwhile for me, a life-long fan of of the TV show.

All of it is novel once, but my repeat favorites are just about everything at Epcot. If you can't find something to entertain you at Epcot, you just aren't entertainable....

I would be amused if you went to the Big Disney and gave us your recap of the Hall of the Presidents. The animatronics are just amazing, and the characterizations are so intriguing to analyze as history has judged.

When in Orlando, I so very much enjoy Universal Themeparks more. The Universal Studios is a more convincing and engaging park than Disney/MGM, and the Universal Islands of Adventure actually puts you INSIDE the movies, the cartoons, the dinosaurs, etc. The rides also blow anything Disney has away... but I'm a different judge.

I've been to both Disney and Universal parks in both Orlando and Southern California. Let me know if I can expound on anything you come across. I gush about this stuff!

the fun things we did were:
* a backstage tour (key to the kingdom)
* parasailed (http://picasaweb.google.com/jwscyd/0705172Para#) over bay lake
* Fantasia Miniature Golf (http://picasaweb.google.com/jwscyd/0705173Golf#)
* Rockin' Rollercoaster with Aerosmith (Disney Hollywood Studios) - we did that one three times. yeah, it's a coaster I like.
* Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba
* Raglan Road (Irish pub in DTD - great food, great house band)
* dedicate an entire day in animal kingdom by starting with breakfast at boma.
* take lots of pictures!
* wear the silly mouse ears hats (though that's cuter as a couple, I admit)

but that's just me...well, us.

In Disneyland my fav thing is to just sit in the animation room for a while letting that atmosphere of the classic films just soak in. WDW's doesn't have this room, opting instead to try to duplicate the look of the old hyperion lot for its animation museum. the same "atmosphere" used to have me spending time in the theater where Steamboat Willie always played, but that's now an extention to the main street shops :(

yeah, that kinda leads to my other thing which is sometimes fun, sometimes not: try to remember what used to be in the space where "N" is now...

oh yeah - at least one character breakfast (we did 1900 Park Ave, with the victorian/edwardian characters (Mary Poppins, Alice & Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger).

and ride in the very front of the monorail, particularly on a long trip like TTC to Epcot.

Number one? People watch :-) There's much the same air of fun/whatever there as at MDRF, without the alcohol, and it shows... usually.

Walking around Epcot, catching some of the shows here and there... along with looking into the pavilions.
Eating at the Coral Reef restaurant (dunno if that's still the name, but the one with the huge aquarium wall)
Backstage tours (I've liked both that I've been on, but Animal Kingdom's I'd do again)
Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian (nice view, and some of the best scones I've ever had.. they do diet restrictions well there if you give them advance notice, as well.. same as at any of their restaurants).
Lion King show at Animal Kingdom, especially watching the Tumble Monkeys.

Season specific:
If T-giving to New Years, resort hop to look at the decorations in the hotels as well
Food and Wine Festival - some of the extra shows are interesting, and I've heard many rave about the varieties of wine to taste (not my thing, unfortunately)
Epcot's Flower and Garden show (whatever the real name is?) - wandering the whole place, looking at the various "extra"- topiaries, small gardens, shows, etc.

Oh, and how could I forget the "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth"?

All the parks have a closing show, but I strongly encourage you to find a good place to watch the laser/fireworks show around the Epcot World Showcase lagoon. If the park isn't "too crowded" (and that definition is up to the fortitude of the viewer), the best place in my opinion to watch from is standing by the rails of the lagoon. There are some other options -- and others (particularly locals you meet along the journey) might guide you to their fav's.

My reason for suggesting Epcot's night-time show is that it's been my experience that it is MUCH easier to see the show across the water than try to follow all the beautiful bedlam and character-filled chaos that goes on in the main park for their "Wishes Nighttime Spectacular". There's a STORY for each show, but depending on where you stand you can't see everything as well as the lagoon in Epcot.

The backstage tours. The Steamtrain one was interesting, the architecture of Epcot was truly fascinating.

Carousel & Train are always a must for me (any park, not just Disney).

Wandering through the tiger & bird area of Animal Kingdom & seeing the shows there (amazing training).

Dinner in the California Grill atop the Contemporary hotel. Time it so that you get to watch the fireworks over either the Magic Kingdom or Epcot or both. They pipe in the music. They can handle special food requests in advance. Reservations are a must.

Personal favs within the park are the Rock'n Roller Coaster at MGM studios and the Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kindgom.. Also, all of the food and cultural things in Epcot.

On a hot miserable day: Donald's Boat in Mickey's Toontown Fair, with refreshing sprinklers, we ran thru the sprinklers for a great cool down - so much fun!! Of course, I'm very prone to heat exhaustion so I kept an eye out for places to cool off...

My favorite really isn't doable again with the same reaction. Ejwench and I were walking from Toon Town to Fantasyland and when we got to the bridge in front of the castle she was commenting on the architecture/paint and how good it looked. I coountered with "I hear this is the happiest place on earth, but let me see if I can make it a little happier." With that, I dropped to one knee and proposed to her with the ring. The proposal, if memory serves, went something like:

Me: "Will you..."

Ejwench (cutting me off): "Oh shit, you're doing it!"

Me: (continuing) "...mar..."

Ejwench: "Yes!" (breaking into tears)

Yeah, that'd be tough to spring on her again. The upside is that evertime we see the opeing of a Disney film and they show the castle logo, we'ra always able to say "it was right *there*!!!"

Tower of Terror is at Disney MGM. Different park from Disney World.
Ken loved Tower of Terror. I didn't go on the ride. Not my thing.
Epcot is my favorite overall place. The rides are tame, the shows are fun.
Magic Mountain is a must-do, and this is coming from a girl who gets motion sick.
I also love animal kingdom. Late afternoon do the safari ride. We saw tons of animals. Having dinner at Animal Kingdom lodge allows you to see the animals graze right next to the lodge.
Much of the food at disney world is blah. If you eat at some of the upscale restaurants you'll be quite pleased - like California Grill.

PS - if you're going soon, bring layers. It gets cool at night and can be cool during the day too.
