In so many ways, not the least of which, i am wearing glasses as Columbina. It's just so odd for me to see that. But sight is essential in what we do.

The stage looks like it was much smaller in 2006.

Each year they change the angle or what is in or out of the curtain. I always have to get there early to have them fix what they set up...which is almost always wrong

and some years, we fix it opening morning ourselves so we can get on and off stage

I also am concerned about wearing my glasses on stage, but I've been doing so for many years now. I can't handle contacts and I am not a candidate for Lasik (as the doctor said to me, I'm on the bleeding edge of the technology), so the only recourse I had was to wear what I had. Recently I got an obscenely, ugly, but nearer to period set of frames from Williamsburg that will have to do.

Being able to see sometimes sucks...
