You never know who is on the big screen
Jan. 28th, 2007 10:32 amI went to see a movie with a friend tonight at Muvico in Hanover. While there, they show commercials before the movie. One was for the History channel. Showed two janitors, one complaining about the loud rock band playing in the background. I think they talked about other history stuff, but I can't tell you for sure, because I started yelling out. "OH MY GOD! THAT'S MY DAD!" My friend looks at me and says "Your dad is an actor too?" Yup. BWAHAHAH. The audience must have thought I was insane yelling "That's my dad!".
In his older age, Dad has been doing commercials and the like, did a bit on Howard Stern years ago, and did an off broadway show called "Grandma Sylvia's Funeral." He gets more professional work (that he didn't create) than I.
I did quiet down through the movie, but I was silently cursing my dad for not telling he me had done this gig...in a good way. After the flick, it was too late to call him, so I called my friends who knew him to tell them. They all got a huge laugh out of it. I call Dad today to pick on him and laugh.
