Deep breath...it's booked

For my 40th this year, I am giving myself a treat. My birthday is during faire, so, post faire, I am going to Italy for around 6 days (8 day tour including flights): 2 days Venice, 2 days Florence, 2 days Rome. I am learning how much more expensive traveling alone is since my traveling partner had to bail for personal reasons.

But the best part, one of my hotel's...it's the Arlecchino. It's like I'm coming home.

Have never been to Italy before...Advice? Warnings? Thoughts?

Flying KLM, which isn't my fav for overseas travel, but at least it earns me points on Northwest so a flight to WIRF next year could be free.
