Follow up to Mimi the Mime stuff

Hi all,
been a long time since I posted here. Many of you who are local probably know by now, but here's an update if you don't. A week ago friday Cybele Pomeroy, (aka Mimi the Mime) at the Maryland Festival, fell off a wall while performing at a school day at the PA festival. She broke her wrist, her elbow and her ankle. She has no health insurance, and is a full-time performer - so she's out of work. We are putting on a benefit at Carrol's Creek Restaurant in Annapolis Maryland on Tuesday November 11th from 7:30 - 10:30 PM. It is called the Humpty Dumpty Piano bar (because a mime is a terrible thing to waste). The cover charge is whatever you can manage - each according to ability. There will be food, a cash bar, and some really neat items that will be offered through raffle tickets and a silent auction. Since the food is being donated by local restaurants, we need RSVPs so we don't run out. You can rsvp to my email: cjcrowehome@aol.com

Friday Five

"Too busy to write five easy questions." Fine. I'll use the one from this time last year. So there.

1. What is your favorite scary movie?
The Hitcher always scared me, but I am often not into "scary movies" I also like Alien and Silence of the Lambs, but I can't see them at night or the nightmares are intense.

2. What is your favorite Halloween treat?
Hershey's special dark chocolate bars.

3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween costume.
Yes, when I can. I was a hermaphrodite, dressed to the right, bustier, heels, beard of my own hair...I went out and kissed all my male friends and freaked them out.

The other was "come as your worst nightmare" I was a senile old Jewish woman. My friend Eric kept coming up to me and I would say "Who are you". He would repsond with "Grandma, it's Eric, your grandson"... "I don't have a grandson. WHo are you" all night long...it was evil.


4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?
Not particularly. Never really went to one, and Halloween was always cold for hayrides and the like.

5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?
Yes, but not for the same reason. Going to a handfasting and they have asked that we come in garb, so I will be in my pretty costuming, rather than the work stuff. Might get a chance to do a regular costume again though...not sure yet on timing.

Another Friday Five

(1) Name your favorite restaurant to dine at
This one is tough. I have a number of styles of food I like, and different restaurants for each. Telephone Bar and Grill in NYC? MezzaNotte in Severa Park, Harry Brown's in Annapolis. Melting Pot in Rockville. Really not sure

(2) Name your favorite department store to shop at
not a big thing, but maybe Hechts, used to work Bloomies in NYC, that was fun.

(3) Name your favorite automobile manufacturer
Saturn. Hands down. Though I like the CRV from Honda

(4) Name your favorite TV network
Hrm, Showtime or HBO? maybe NBC or CBS JUST for Survivor.

(5) Name your favorite method of transportation
car or walking. I don't like the air popping in my ears on Metro. hated being in a limo. Get motion sickness if I am in the backseat alot. I use to like the bus though. Sleep on the ride...though once I got lice from it...Joy. Icky.
